Business card Marketing Tips
1) Have your business card with you at all time!
I know this seems like the most basic thing, but it is important to always have your business card with you. You don't want to know how many times I have heard "I don't have my business card on me" said by someone who had a service that I was interested in. I know you have heard the term use it or lose it, right? Well in the case of the people who did not have a card to hand out they actually did lose it. What they lost was my business because 5 minutes after meeting them I forgot all about them and their service. So do not let your business cards sit in a box and "collect dust" Use your business cards.
2) Does your business card stand out?
A question that you should ask yourself is does your business card blend in? Well if you want to hide your business card in the pile of other cards that your potential prospect has, then yes. But we all know that a hidden business card means nothing for your business. So give your business card some "pop". There is absolutely no excuse today to have an unattractive and unprofessional business card. Do your research and see what other peoples business cards in your industry look like and what they say. Give your business card thought with the right color and design.
3) does a double sided business card equal double sales?
I am not sure if this theory is correct, but I do know that most business owners fail to utilize the backside of their business cards. The extra side to your business card means more real estate space to put in more relevant and important content that could add huge value to your business. The backside of your card should have extra valuable incentives that will make your business card worth holding on to.
4) Have a clear message on your business card
When someone looks at your business card can they tell immediately what it is you offer? If not, then you could be missing out on potential business and referrals. Also does your logo have any connection with what your business does? Your logo should be able to tell a prospect what it is you do while branding your business.
5) Keep your business card clean and uncluttered
The design and spacing of your business card content is crucial. Your font should not be too small for your prospects to read. Your text should also not be crammed together and cluttered. An attractive business card is one that is not that busy, is spaced properly and offers exactly what your prefect prospect is looking for. Only use the information that is really important to your potential customers and clients.
6) Does your business card have a call to action?
This is a very important step that many business owners still do not take advantage of. A call to action on your business card can be huge for your business. Leave space on your business card (Like the back of the card) to give your prospects an enticing reason to call you and visit your location or website. Some good examples I have seen are, offering the card as a coupon, like 20% off with this card, or free consultation worth $50 with this card. Another good idea is to make the person who has the card feel like they have something exclusive. Like they have a special offer or service with the card that not everyone is given.
